Good or Bad Interview

Bad interview:
During a video I found online, I saw many things go wrong in the interview. First, they didn't introduce themselves or shake the interviewers hand right. Second, they kept biting on their nails/skin. It made them look unprofessional and gross. Third, they looked like they were dressed for the gym instead of an interview. They couldn't keep eye contact and kept looking down at the floor. 

Good interview:
After walking the bad interview, I watched a good interview. I must say it was a lot more better than the first one. First, they came ten minutes early to the interview to know they were ready. Second, should they had a firm handshake and gave direct eye contact.Third, Walked in with a positive attitude/mood with a big smile and good posture. Also, had a resume ready to hand in and looked nice. As you can tell this interview went much better than the first one I had watched. 

It Takes a Tribe

One of the readings for this week were about community's and students in college. I choose to write about "It Takes a Tribe". During the reading, I had mixed feelings, I felt like I could relate and other parts I was shocked. I remember when I had first started going to Bridgewater State, everyone was different and know one was really the same. It was like everyone had their own story and you have to find where you fit it. This reminded me of the "tribes" in the reading. People would do terrible things, just to become the "big man on campus". It made me realize that this campus is more accepting and you just got to be yourself in order to find who your friends are. I've met a lot of new people here who I thought I would never become friends with. Some of the people that I've known since I was back in middle school I started talking too and realize they really aren't that bad of people. The reading does make me realize that people will do whatever they can to get into the "tribes" on campus. 

Tattoos

What is the theme?
What symbols?
What do they mean?
Are tattoos an effective way to convey your identity? 
Why or why not?

The theme of this reading is tattoos and September 11th. Some symbols are the flag, twin towers, the hands, script/words in the tattoos, and plains. It symbolizes what we lost during this time of period, it represents freedom,religion, patriotic,  and how we lost the twin towers because of the crash. Each of the three tattoos are a little different but all similar because they all are for September 11th. One was on a construction worker who was there when they crash had started, he wants people to know that the towers won't be forgotten. I believe tattoos are an effective way to convey your identity because its a way of art on your body and sometimes you can't express in word but in art instead. It can also represent someone you lost, something that has happen or it can show who you are.

First post of blog

I'm not one who usually writes a blog, this whole blog thing is new to me but i'm going to give it a try. During this weeks reading it made me realize a few things, I chose the reading about the avatars. During the reading it shows that when your online, you can become a completely different person than you would be in real life. Everyone was different that their avatar online. It shows you can easily hide from anyone and it changes people. One of the people forgot about their own child a lot because she tended to play online games instead of paying attention to her child, it was shocking to me that someone could ever do this. This reading made me realize how fast the internet changes people, you never know who you are actually talking too and the internet can be a crazy thing that makes people addicted too. As you can tell , i'm not much of a "blogger" but lets see how this post and how things go from here!
